Pre-Care:
THE DAY BEFORE-
I highly recommend exfoliating, washing and conditioning your scalp the day before your appointment. Having a clean and moisturized scalp will help achieve the best results and help hold the ink retention.
Holistic Recommendation: EXFOLIATE with APPLE CIDER VINEGAR (gently scrub it in with a SILICONE ROUND BRUSH - scrub scrub scrub!), WASH with ORGANIC BABY SHAMPOO, and CONDITION with GRAPESEED OIL or COCONUT OIL (leave it in for about an hour or overnight and rinse and wash off with organic shampoo).

THE DAY OF-
Please make sure you have a meal! You will need to prepare to be with me for about 2-4 hours (we'll be best friends at the end of this) and don't forget to bring some snacks! We do have snacks, water and coffee in the studio if you forget.
If you do have low pain tolerance, you can take a tylenol before your appointment.

Post-Care-
RIGHT AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT AND THE DAYS AFTER-
FOR 4 days:
1)NO sweating and hot steamy showers - this will open your pores and the small impressions we put on your skin will open up and pop out. So please stay cool.
2)NO hair products
3) NO dirty hats or pillowcases - it is a tattoo and essentially an open wound on your body. To avoid infection, please keep the area clean.
4) NO scratching or picking
ON THE 5th day:
Wash with lukewarm water and organic baby shampoo.
To maintain your tattoo I recommend moisturizing and applying sunscreen.

Pre-care instructions (the night before your appt)
1) Please wash and exfoliate your mustache and/or beard. I recommend a good sugar scrub.
2) Condition with organic face oils
3) Keep in mind, your beard may need to trimmed down so you can get the best results.

Post-care instructions
1) Do not scratch or pick at your FMP
2) No hot steamy showers or saunas (4days)
3) No swimming (7 days)

THE REMAINING TOTAL IS DUE AT YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT.

POSSIBLE RISK, HAZARDS or COMPLICATIONS:
• Pain: There can be pain even during and after your procedure
• Infection: Infection is very unusual. The areas treated must be kept clean and followed by after-care instructions which will be handed to you before you leave your appointment.
Uneven Pigmentation: This can result from poor healing, infection, bleeding or many other causes. Your follow up appointment will likely correct any uneven appearance.
•Asymmetry: Every effort will be made to avoid asymmetry but our bodies and scalps are not symmetrical so adjustments may be needed during the touch-up session to correct any unevenness.
Excessive Swelling, Redness or Bruising: Some people bruise and swell more than others.
• Sun, Tanning Beds, Pools, Skin Care Products: Exposure can affect your cosmetic tattoo.
• Fever Blisters: If you are prone to cold sores or fever blisters, (herpes simplex), there is a high probability that you will get them if we are working around the area. It is advised that you call your doctor for a prescription antiviral to help prevent this from occurring.
• Hyper-pigmentation: Over-production of natural melanin in skin may result in a longer healing period.
Healing Time: It may take longer for you to heal based on your skin type and it is impossible for us to predict or estimate how long it will take your body to heal.
Results not guaranteed: We do everything we can to improve the appearance of your skin, scars, and/or scalp but tattooing in any form is not an exact science and there is no guarantee your body will react well with treatment.
• Allergic Reaction & Test Patch: There is a small possibility of an allergic reaction or/and you have the option to do a "test patch" to see how your skin reacts to the camouflage tattoo procedure. If you would like to request a patch test, I charge $50 for the patch test and that will go towards your treatment.
The alternative to these possibilities is to use cosmetics and not undergo the Cosmetic Tattoo procedure.

PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Shower the night before your appointment.
Exfoliate and moisturize the area
Stay hydrated and have a good meal before your appointment.
Wear loose fitting clothes and comfortable shoes. If you want you can bring a small blanket or robe if you get cold easily.
Do not apply any lotions the morning of your appointment.
POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
No showering tonight! The serum needs to settle in for the next 24 hours
Starting tomorrow and 2 days after, cold compress the areas 3x/daily for 10 minutes
Apply after-care products on treated areas 2x/day until you run out, then move on to aquaphor
No working-out or excessive sweating for 5-7 days to minimize infection risks
No swimming, saunas, jacuzzis, exfoliating, or soaking in baths for 3 weeks
Forbidden to sunbath, spray tan or have direct sun exposure on areas for 40 days
First 2-weeks, stretch marks will look the darkest and then begin to slowly blend in
Hyperpigmentation can occur, which may extend healing time
Itchiness, flakiness may occur the week after your session
Do not itch harshly, rub or pick off flaking skin. Allow it to flake off by itself.
Once healed, always use sun-block on the areas to protect its longevity
If itchiness does occur, you can put a small ice pack or damp cold clean paper towel to cool the area.

1 to 3 Days After Your Procedure Your physician assistant will place Tegaderm™ plastic dressing on your tattoo right after your procedure. Leave this dressing on for 3 days.
You may shower normally with your dressing on. It’s waterproof.
Fluid may build up underneath your dressing. This is normal.
If your dressing starts to come off or if fluid is dripping from your dressing, put another Tegaderm™ dressing over the one you have on.
4 Days After Your Procedure

Remove the Tegaderm™ dressing. Gently clean the area in the shower with warm water and your normal shower soap. Don’t rub the area to get it clean.
Leave any scabs that may have formed alone. They will heal and come off on their own.
After your shower, dry the area gently. Apply non-scented white lotion (such as Lubriderm®, Aveeno®, or Eucerin®) to the tattooed area until it absorbs.
5 to 14 Days After Your Procedure

Continue applying non-scented white lotion to the area at least once a day.
You may apply lotion more than once a day if the area looks dry.
General Care Guidelines

Don’t soak in a pool, bath, or hot tub until your tattoo is completely healed. This usually takes about 2 weeks.
If a crust or scab appears on the area, don’t peel it off. This can pull away the ink on your tattoo.
Don’t exercise (such as run, do yoga, or cycle) for 1 week after your procedure or while there’s scabbing. If you’re in physical therapy, it’s okay to continue after your procedure.
Don’t lift anything heavier than 20 pounds (9 kilograms) for 1 week after your procedure or while there’s scabbing.
You can wear a bra at any time.
When to Call Your Healthcare Provider

Call your healthcare provider if you have:

A fever of 101° F (38.3° C) or higher
Pain at or around the treated area
Increasing redness or warmth at or around the treated area
Thick drainage at or around the treated area
